MERCEDES TESTS FAKE TIE-RODS

Mercedes-Benz engaged their brand protection unit to test a genuine, and a non-genuine tie rod. Tie rods are a vital part of the steering mechanism, connecting the action of the steering wheel with the movement of the wheels that guide the car. While non-genuine parts could fit and perform part of the role, we see here the outcome of trusting a non-genuine part in a dangerous and very common swerve and avoid situation.
