Global Brake Safety Council Warning

In its Information Release on 22 October 2018, the Global Brake Safety Council (GBSC) expressed grave concerns about the “infiltration of fraudulent brakes”

The GBSC suggests that counterfeiters are jeopardising the safety of motorists with brake pads and other brake system components that it says can lead to malfunction or complete brake system failure.

In collaboration with the United States National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center (IPR Center), the GBSC is working to heighten public awareness about the need to ensure the safety of the motoring public through the use of genuine automotive replacement parts.

Genuine is Best provides consumers with an online tool on its website, www.genuineisbest.com/reportacounterfeit to report the importation, distribution and/or sale of suspected counterfeit goods.

Brakes are one of the most important safety device on a vehicle. Make sure yours do more than just look the part. Always ask for genuine parts.
